actor bio/ Cheryl Hines

Cheryl Hines received Emmy® nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in both 2006 and 2003 for her role as Larry David's wife, Cheryl. As a member of The Groundlings Theater, Hines has spent much of the last three years writing and performing sketch and improvisational comedy. This experience makes her feel very at home with the improvised dialogue format of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM.

Although she is often cast in "pretty girl" roles, anyone who has seen her onstage wearing a wig cap during her One Woman Show sketch knows that she would rather be funny than pretty. Cheryl recently starred opposite Peter Gallagher in the cable feature A Tale of Two Wives, a romantic revenge comedy.

A native of Florida, Hines earned her bachelor's degree in radio and television before moving to Los Angeles, where she successfully pursued her career as an actress. Her numerous television roles include memorable appearances on Brothers & Sisters, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, Suddenly Susan, The Wayans Bros. and Oh, Baby. Hines was also the female lead voice in the primetime animated series Father of the Pride from DreamWorks Television.

Hines' other film credits include The Ugly Truth, Henry Poole Is Here, Waitress, RV, Herbie: Fully Loaded and Along Came Polly.

She also starred in the independent films Our Very Own, Lucky 13 and Cheap Curry and Calculus and has had principal ...

roles in many live theatre productions. Although many fans have revered Cheryl's memorable performances in Unsolved Mysteries and Swamp Thing.

Hines modestly dismisses these early roles as "crap."
